For a café that specializes in Japanese souffle pancakes, you can check out Flufff in Ipoh. This relative newcomer has other desserts to offer customers too.
If beige interiors are your thing, you might really like the interior of Flufff too.

About Flufff
Flufff café or just Flufff (with 3 f’s at the end) is in Ipoh Old Town. This new cafe is walking distance from Concubine Lane.
The two refurbished shop lots that Flufff takes up are upstairs, right above Chloe Co. To enter Flufff, use the door and staircase to the left of Chloe Co.
Their menu features souffle pancakes with many different toppings. Although there are mains, fruit tarts, and biscuits on the menu as well.
They have a refreshing mix of summery drinks in addition to typical café beverages (like matcha latte or flat white coffee).
Ease Of Parking At Flufff
Flufff is in the most touristy part of Ipoh.
And hence, if it’s a weekend or public holiday, a vacant car park is extremely difficult to come across. And this is the case on weekdays too but after lunch time (2pm plus), it is easier.
You do have to pay for street parking around here.
Ambiance At Flufff
While décor at Flufff is minimal, they have many ambient lights, high ceilings and plenty of space between tables. Combining two shop lots gives is the reason for this.
The old floorboards look like they are from the original shop lot. These creak a lot too.
A waiting area is directly in front of the stairs as you climb up. And not far is the bar seating where staff prepare orders too.
There is one table outside from the main seating area (Table number 1) and this table gives you a good view of the first shop lot.
And if you sit here, you will also get a view of the street below since it’s next to a window. The cake display and counter is just across from this table too.
Service At Flufff
Flufff has more than 6 staff manning the café. These include staff behind the bar who are responsible for the made-to-order items.
Because souffle pancakes are best eaten fresh, waiting times can be long. When we came on a weekday afternoon though, they came in less than 15 minutes after we placed our order.
We did ask a staff member for the password to the WiFi and she promptly let us know. Turns out though, the WiFi was not working. We did not bother her further about it.
Food At Flufff
Matcha souffle pancake caught our eye on the menu. And while it is not bad, it did not have a strong matcha flavor. The taste is very subtle.
The texture of the pancake is nice and fluffy. The cream that they put on top (supposedly low fat) is not too sweet either.
Homemade red bean paste was a little salty, but it is a nice contrast with the sweeter cream.
White coffee at Flufff is decent. The portion is larger than at other cafes. And you get a small but delicious biscuit with it too.
Iced passionfruit tea comes in a large wine glass. On the whole, we liked our drinks.
Pricing At Flufff
We only ordered three items – coffee, matcha souffle pancake and passionfruit tea. And this already came up to more than RM50.
So, if you plan to dine here, expect to pay around RM30 per person.
Taking portions into consideration though, these are not stingy.
Note: There are breakfast options on the menu but these don’t look worth their price point to us.
Conclusion
Flufff is a very comfortable and chic space to enjoy unique desserts like fruit tarts and souffle pancakes with family and friends.
But it is not so great for having a chat as the cafe can be noisy when full. Pricing is average-to-high for a café in this part of town.
We have no comment on the lunch menu of Flufff for now.
