Food At Kam Yat Restaurant
Kam Yat’s menu is a mish-mash of popular Chinese comfort food. They have several special dishes in the mix as well.
The pig hamstring and tendon is a novel delicacy that’s hard to come by. Boiled for hours until soft, this collagen-rich dish is a class act:
This memorable dish features thick brown gravy with aromatic hints of dried chill. The tendons peel off with the gentlest tug of the fork. It crumbles into a tasty explosion of soft chewy bites in the mouth.
Kids will like the fried chicken with salted egg yolk:
The dainty bite-sized chicken maintains its crispiness without feeling soggy or oily. The salted egg yolk sauce lends a creamy texture and much flavor.
Patin steamed fish in signature bean paste sauce is another fail-proof dish. It has generous portions of meaty Patin fish served on a flaming plate.
This is not a game-changing meal that will sweep you off your feet. But it showcases all the right technicalities of cooking a good fish dish.
Fried kai lan with mixed vegetables is tasty. They use young shoots of Hong Kong Kai Lan in a garlic-infused gravy. The dish leans towards a sweet side. It’s easy to clear this dish because of how good it tastes!
Adding to the menu are seasonal dishes with a playful fusion flair. Their cheese shrimp rice combines prawns with cheesy gravy over fluffy white rice.
Their soup menu gets new introductions on a monthly basis.
For now, the flavor of the month is healthy dishes. Bitter gourd soup will have you coming back for more.
Don’t forget to give their Poon Choi a try too as it makes an ideal treat for festivities and family gatherings.
As for payment, cash is king, and cards are not accepted. So bring along enough cash. This is one of the only modes of acceptable payment here, apart from Touch N go transfer.
