They mix the firm and springy noodles with a sweet red char siu sauce. And top the noodles with minced pork and roasted pork slices (char siu). A garnish of chopped scallions completes the dish.

Since the portions are generous, a small bowl is enough to fill your belly.

To be honest, the Kampua Mee didn’t look as inviting as the Kolo Mee. It is less saucy, drier, and colorless.

But this dish has its own character and distinct taste profile. It uses pork lard, white pepper, and a dash of soy sauce and comes with a zesty orange sauce.

The sweetness of the char siu slices complements the garlic oil of the noodles.

Moreover, the noodles are straight and not wavy like the Kolo Mee.  To us, the firm texture of the noodles is their main selling point.

Laksa Sarawak is another star attraction with a heavenly medley of spices. It has earthy notes of toasted ground nuts and sesame seeds.

The exquisite shrimp paste (belacan) adds heat and spice to the dish. Laksa Sarawak uses less coconut milk than traditional curry laksa.

But the coconut milk still adds a subtle creaminess to the dish that enriches the taste profile. And with the refreshing nuances of coriander, their Laksa Sarawak is a satisfying meal!

Tomato Fried Kuey Teow (or Mee Jawa Sarawak) is another Sarawak specialty to try here. The thick, red tomato broth offers a perfect balance between sweet and sour.

It is comparable to Cantonese fried kuey teow with distinct wok hei undertones. And they serve it with plenty of chicken cutlets, vegetables, and seafood.
