About
This campsite in Selangor is a well-kept secret, as it only opened its doors in February 2023.
It is fast chalking up likes on social media. Thanks to its luxurious showers and the well-designed landscape.
We were surprised to learn that this site belongs to a foreigner who hires Orang Asli to upkeep the campsite. They speak fluent English too.
Getting To Summer Summer Farm
The meandering road to the campsite starts on a hill and takes you down with 2 steep descents. So, drive slowly and engage low gear to negotiate the hilly terrain.
Facilities
The facilities here are one of the best in Selangor. There is a different kind of charm. It blurs the lines between luxury glamping and rugged camping.
For a relaxing getaway without breaking a sweat, you can rent pre-set up glamping domes. These include different sizes – 3, 4 or 5-pax tents.
Hard core campers who like to pitch their own tents can rent a plot and bask in the midst of unspoiled nature.
Restrooms here put many hotels to shame:
They have hot showers with decent water pressure, a granite stone floor, and a metal rack to put clothes on. Body wash and shampoo are available, as is toilet paper.
The cooking area is every camper’s dream too. Because you don’t have to set up your kitchen outside your tent. And this saves space in your trunk.
What they have is a built-in stove that can be lit with a lighter. Besides 2 portable stoves that you can fire up as well.
Guests share a communal dining area, a 440L refrigerator, and barbecue grill.
Additionally, there is a Coway water dispenser for hot and cold water. As well as a pan and other cooking utensils for meal preparation.
Highlights
The campsite faces the Hulu Rening River. It’s the farthest campsite with nothing else upstream. So, you can frolic in the crystal-clear water while sharing the river with tiny fish.
Because the stretch lining the camp site is relatively calm:
It is suitable for children to wade for hours (under adult supervision).
There is also an herb garden within walking distance. All herbs have labels for educational purposes.
The chicken coop displays the name of all its residents. Walk a little closer and the chickens will cluck in the presence of strangers.
Lastly, there is a fishpond behind the common dining area. The campsite warden will leave a tub of fish food for campers to feed them.
The Camping Grounds
Summer Sumer Farm has two expansive campsites (Suria and Purnama). These are beside the river.
Purnama and Suria can accommodate 20 people each or up to 7 tents, depending on the size of your tent. The sites are at least 40 meters from the river and are on higher land.
Which is nice since you don’t have to worry about the water overflowing the banks in case of heavy rain.
In the day, ample trees keep the campsites cooler than the dining area.
400-meters of grass separate the two campsites. And this is the perfect playground for children to frolic, play and picnic.
Lay out a mat to play card and board games, read a book or soak in the scenery under the starry sky full of good memories.
Both campsites have direct access to the bathroom and kitchen. But from Purnama, you can reach the toilet by a short flight of stairs.
Each site has a campfire and plenty of chopped firewood.
Pro-tip: If the campsite is damp due to rain, use the paper egg holders in the kitchen to start your campfire.
Campsite Distance To The Car Park
The Purnama campsite has a parking strip that can fit 3 cars, while the Suria campsite can take up to 4 cars.
Other cars must park near the chicken coop, which is about 80 meters away on the hill.
Phone Coverage
Phone coverage at this private campsite in Selangor is good. Although the network connection may face occasional interruptions.
When that happens, reboot your phone and give it a few minutes to reconnect.
Campers using Maxis and Digi at Summer Summer Farm do not have any major network problems.
Pricing
The price per plot is RM 988 per night divided by the number of adults. To reduce the cost per person, you’ll need to bring along as many camping buddies with you, up to a maximum of 20 people.
Since children 7 years old count as adults here:
The cost per pax for our entourage of 14 adults and 2 children is RM 70.60 per night.
Considering the great facilities here, we find this to be a reasonable price.
If you want to rent the glamping domes where the tents are set up for you, that will come at extra cost.
Conclusion
The facilities of Summer Summer Farm exceed our expectations. But if you’re here for more than one night, be sure to include some activities for entertainment.
That said, Summer Summer Farm is a stellar camping site in Selangor and one of the best we have tried!
