1. Jeff’s Cellar

This unusual restaurant sits inside a 260-million-year-old ‘living’ limestone cave – one of the many limestone caves you can visit in Ipoh actually.

The cave is splendidly lit with warm lighting to make you feel as if you’ve stepped into a whole other world.

Aside from its highly romantic ambiance, Jeff’s cellar does its name justice with its in-house cellar you can take tours of. From organic to rarer finds, they have a wine ready to suit everyone’s tastes.

And other than their spellbinding wines, Jeff’s Cellar regularly rotates their menu (Degustation), courtesy of the esteemed Chef Boon.

Meals are farm fresh and curated with excellence.

Note: They abide by Banjaran’s child policy and only accommodate adults and guests 12 years of age and above.

If wine doesn’t tickle your fancy, they concoct all sorts of lovely cocktails with artistry. Their impressive drink menu is one of the best things about Opëam.

The other highlight is their “Skinny Pizza’s”. The pizzas here are thin, crunchy, crispy, and topped with quality ingredients.

You can opt for a half and half pizza too – we got the smoked duck and beef pepperoni and both had their own flavors (and were equally yummy).

Other than the astounding food, the servers here are friendly and accommodating so you can enjoy your night worry-free.

However, finding this establishment and parking your car may be a little tricky as it doesn’t have parking for guests, and is tucked in a residential area behind some shop lots.

Despite this, the dishes of Opëam (like the Truffle And Cheese Pizza) and these select few are worth that struggle:

Since 1996, Indulgence Restaurant & Living has had a long history of serving up delicious treats. Before moving to their current location, they were a humble shop lot serving cakes and coffee.

Converted from an old bungalow, Indulgence Restaurant & Living promises a more casual fine dining experience.

Western dishes like pasta, pizza, fried chicken are all available on the menu. As are steaks. The food here can be a hit and miss since the new management took over. But service remains good.

Additionally, you don’t have to worry about spending half your mealtime finding a parking space as this restaurant has ample car park slots.

Another interesting aspect of this restaurant is that it also doubles as a luxurious inn. It has 7 rooms all decorated differently according to their designated themes. 

Furthermore, you can book the whole place out for a private dine-in!

4. The Limestone’s Restaurant

The Limestone’s Restaurant is unfortunately not in a cave, as its name implies. But instead, sits in the impeccable Regalodge Hotel.

This fine dining establishment is perfect for celebrations as you can ask them to switch up their modern interior to anything your heart desires.

Although the overall space can’t host a group larger than 50pax.

You’ll like the clean and quiet environment with friendly servers that are quick to respond to any of your concerns.

An added bonus is this restaurant is Halal certified. With smooth jazz playing in the background, this restaurant will have you feeling so comfortable you might have to check into the hotel!

Sitting in an old colonial-style shop lot, this establishment is simple but cozy on the inside and more traditional on the outside.

Bear in mind there is limited sitting on the premises, but the ambiance is quiet and peaceful. And even though their premises are small, they have a space for private dinners.

The private space accommodates up to 8 attendees and is perfect for a quiet celebration.

As for the menu, this Ipoh fine dining restaurant features Italian cooking with a Japanese twist as it’s cooked by its Japanese chef, Chef Sato.

Although their plating is minimal and unassuming, their food is as good as other high-end fine dining establishments, possibly even better.

This is a spot that may be a little difficult to find as it is on a quiet street adjacent to Jalan Lau Ek Ching. However, once you do find it you won’t be disappointed by what’s inside!

With decently sized portions (for fine dining standards) and a sultry ambiance, this eatery may become your favorite date night spot.

Meals use fresh ingredients and are decently priced for authentic French cuisine.

Their menu may be limited but these meals and others are of the utmost quality:
