You might not think of theme parks when thinking of Ipoh! But there are 5 hidden around Perak.
About half of the theme parks in this list have been around for quite some time while others are relatively newer!

1. Lost World Of Tambun – Theme Park, Hotel And Hot Springs
Easily the go-to theme park for many families:
Lost World of Tambun certainly puts in effort to update its facilities and add on new zones to keep visitors coming again and again!
Spend the day splashing down water slides or chilling in the wave pool by the man-made beach. And the fun doesn’t stop when evening approaches either!
Sunway Lost World has its own night park with fire-breathing performances!
Their Luminous Forest resembles a scene from one of James Cameron’s blockbuster movies, Avatar!

Sunway Lost World Hotel
This is the hotel by Sunway that is just opposite from the theme park. Rooms for 2 pax cost around ~RM200 to RM400 a night!

2. ESCAPE Ipoh
This is the newest attraction in Batu Gajah and it’s not by a newcomer. This is the third location by ESCAPE. They have obstacle courses too, but these are not exactly the same as the ones in ESCAPE Penang.
ESCPAE Ipoh features outdoor activities for the whole family (toddlers too) in a huge area and a rural setting. The park is next to the heritage landmark, TT5 Tin Dredge.
Highlights of the park include their ziplines and e-bikes (great for getting around the park too).
And depending on which package you take, you can explore the park for a day, 2 days or 3 days.
If you choose the overnight options, you will be staying at their BASE CAMP (included in the package) where tents with mattresses will be provided.

3. TiniTin Town
TiniTin Town at Gunung Rapat is around the corner from a very popular breakfast spot for Chinese food (Restoran Hong Lok) too.
The theme park is located inside a spacious complex (that is not air conditioned) and there are many sections.
These include a sheltered car park, a small café, multiple trampolines, a jungle gym, a ball pit, a fossil station, a pretend cooking station, etc.
Toddlers and young children best suit the facilities. And parents are welcome to join in some of the fun!

4. Bukit Merah Laketown Waterpark
Bukit Merah Laketown Resort’s waterpark is a more affordable alternative (about half the price) to the previous waterpark in this list.
But is about an hour’s drive from Ipoh!
Here, you can partake in many rides and different slides at their water park. There’s also a recreational park for outdoor activities like archery or kayaking.
You can also visit Pavilion Petting Zoo to see farm animals and exotic pets.
One really cool thing about this place is the orangutan sanctuary on an island in Bukit Merah Lake!
In general, the prices are usually RM5 cheaper with a MyKad.

5. Frenzy Water Park Marina Island Pangkor
Frenzy Waterpark (Marina Island) is right off the shore on the island of Pangkor in Perak with beautiful views of the sea!
The water here is calm and perfect for water-based activities like kayaking and paddle boats. And don’t worry, there are bathroom and changing room facilities too!
They used to have a fun obstacle course on the water but no longer.

- Opening Hours: 8:30am to 7:30pm but they are closed between 1pm and 5pm
