Sunway Lost World has its own night park with fire-breathing performances!
Their Luminous Forest resembles a scene from one of James Cameron’s blockbuster movies, Avatar!

Sunway Lost World Hotel
This is the hotel by Sunway that is just opposite from the theme park. Rooms for 2 pax cost around ~RM300 a night!

2. Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) – (Officially Closed)
This is an entirely different sort of Ipoh theme park:
MAPS Ipoh is where you can immerse yourself in the world of some of your favorite movies and TV shows!
They have some rides from a couple of Dreamworks Animation movies like Megamind (Megamind MegaDrop Tower) and The Croods (Croods Coaster).
And besides these, they have some local cartoon characters as well. You might even bump into some mascots from BoBoiBoy and The Adventures too!
It’s free to walk around and explore the place. Many of the colorful buildings and sets will tempt you into taking a selfie!
Look out for some unusual shows at their 4D theater or at their Live Action Zone where you can see different car and bike stunts in the flesh!

3. TiniTin Town
One of the newest Ipoh theme parks to join the scene is TiniTin Town at Gunung Rapat. It’s around the corner from a very popular breakfast spot for Chinese food (Restoran Hong Lok) too.
The theme park is located inside a spacious complex (that is not air conditioned) and there are many sections.
These include a sheltered car park, a small café, multiple trampolines, a jungle gym, a ball pit, a fossil station, a pretend cooking station, etc.
Toddlers and young children best suit the facilities. And parents are welcome to join in some of the fun!

Perak Theme Park
4. Bukit Merah Laketown Theme Park / Waterpark
A more affordable alternative to the previous waterpark in this list:
Bukit Merah Laketown Resort & Theme Park is only about an hour’s drive from Ipoh!
Here, you can partake in many rides and different slides at their water park.
And if you want to stay out of the water:
You can visit their Eco Park. Where you can cycle above the park (Skycycle)’s Tropical Rainforest! Or you can get up close with the residents at their Pets Park!
But the best thing about this Perak theme park has got to the orangutan sanctuary on an island in Bukit Merah Lake!

5. Frenzy Water Park Marina Island Pangkor
Update 2023: The only available activities currently are kayaking and paddle boats.
A theme park by the sea?
Frenzy Water Park Marina Island (also known as Frenzy Hippo Park) is right off the shore on the island of Pangkor in Perak with beautiful views of the sea!
The water here is calm and perfect for water-based activities involving:
- Canoes
- Paddle boats
- Kayaks
- Yoyo boats
- Floats (they have a lot of cute ones!)
You can attempt their obstacle course on the water too! Friendly staff will be there to help you get through it!
And don’t worry, there are bathroom and changing room facilities too!
Mind that the water park is usually overrun with kids!
