Aside from their delicious free-range chicken, you’ll be impressed with their drive-through service and overall efficiency to churn out so many in a day!
All their chickens are nicely packed for their customers in their iconic bright red boxes and plastic bags (recently changed to brown paper bags).
There is usually a queue, but you won’t have to wait very long!
But if you do see about 20 people ahead of you, it’s possible that the chicken might be sold out by the time it’s your turn! This is because the shop doesn’t restrict the number of boxes that people can buy!

Ipoh Kheng Lim Salted Chicken is in Gunung Rapat which means you don’t have to drive into Ipoh New Town (and struggle with parking)!
If you buy the frozen chickens, you can keep them for up to a month!
Preparing them for consumption is easy! Just steam for 5 minutes at medium heat with the wrapper on or reheat in the microwave without the wrapper!

They take up 4 shop lots for all the packaged goods (mostly food) that they sell!
Including salted chicken – theirs has a mild herbal flavor and is not very salty. You can buy Ipoh pastries, pomelo, and salt-baked chicken all under the same roof!

Feng Weng Salted Chicken used to go by the name, Ayam Garam Tat Seng. They have a branch just across from Funny Mountain Soya Beancurd!
As well as a kopitiam in Bercham (Kedai Makanan & Minuman Sin Tat Seng).
Aside from the yummy chicken, you can get roast or smoked duck here. And some pork dishes! Their salt-baked chicken is full of flavor and is not so salty.

Canton Salted Chicken is 2 minutes’ drive from Bercham’s renown Cendol Wawasan:
The chicken is well prepared, but stocks are limited. So, it’s best to make a pre-order (1 week ahead) first! Walk-in purchases are not advisable.

Their signature eight treasure salt-baked chicken sells for RM22.
Smoked duck is available too. And if you can’t finish a half or whole chicken/duck, you can order individual drumsticks!
This salted chicken sits right with those that prefer a stronger herbal flavor.

8. Wan Li Xiang Salted Chicken and Salted Duck
For a well-balanced herbal taste that isn’t too salty or strong, you can try the eight treasure salt-baked chicken by Wan Li Xiang –their signature dish. The herbal flavor is mild compared to other stores.
But they have a few other variations besides the original – Ginseng or black pepper.
And if you feel like having salted duck instead of chicken, they have both!
