It’s quite interesting to see how the humble restaurant copes with so many customers!

It’s normal for dine-in customers to have to share a table with strangers.

The fried chicken is the highlight here! It costs under RM8 for rice, curry, and chicken! Be sure to order caramel custardand iced coffee from here too!

Remark: The curry is very spicy if you’re not used to spicy food!

3. Hakka Mee Restaurant Paris

Like the nasi ganja store mentioned above, this restaurant has become rather touristy for their yummy Hakka noodles with minced meat and bean sprouts on top.

Skip this tiny shop if you see many people. Else it will be a long wait for their curry noodles. They taste sourer than the average curry noodles in Ipoh.

Remark: Portions run small; no air-conditioning here; Less crowded after 12pm

Opening Hours: 7:30am to 12pm

5. Restoran Tuck Kee

On the same row with the famous Ipoh peanut candy store (Sin Weng Fai Peanut Candy Shop):

Both are equally good at preparing the Ipoh must-try dish. And they’re right across from each other in Ipoh New Town!

See more options of Ipoh tauge chicken rice here.

7. Salted Chicken Ipoh – Aun Kheng Lim Salted Chicken

Lastly, there’s herbal salted chicken from Aun Kheng Lim. They pack their chickens ready-to-go for takeaways as this is not a dine-in restaurant.
